Terms of service

The terms on which 1600 SAT Lab sells and licenses its practice material. Plain language, no hidden clauses.

Last updated: 21 August 2026

These terms apply to 1600satlab.com and to every product bought or received from 1600 SAT Lab. Buying a product, or submitting your email address to receive the free sample pack, means you accept them.

1. Who we are

1600 SAT Lab is a sole proprietorship registered in the Republic of Korea. It publishes original practice material for the Digital SAT and sells it directly as digital files. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “1600 SAT Lab” mean that business; “you” means the person buying or using the material.

1600 SAT Lab — an independent publisher, registered as a sole proprietorship in the Republic of Korea.
Purchases are processed by Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd) acting as our merchant of record; Paddle’s own business identity appears on your receipt and statement.

Full business registration details are available to customers and authorities on request at that address.

2. What we sell

We sell original digital practice material for the Digital SAT, delivered as PDF files. Every question, explanation, difficulty label and scoring table we publish is written by us.

Nothing we sell is copied from, adapted from, or derived from College Board material. We are an independent publisher and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by the College Board. SAT® is a trademark registered by the College Board.

We sell tests. We do not sell courses, tutoring or admissions advice.

3. Your licence

When you buy a product you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use that product for your own study. Copyright and all other rights stay with 1600 SAT Lab. You are buying a licence to use the material, not ownership of it.

Under that licence you may:

  • read the files on devices you control;
  • print copies for your own use, including printing a test to sit it on paper.

4. What the licence does not allow

You may not:

  • resell the material, in whole or in part;
  • sublicense it, or transfer your licence to another person;
  • redistribute it in any form, free or paid — this includes uploading it to file-sharing sites, shared cloud folders, messaging groups, forums, course platforms and study-material archives;
  • use it in paid tutoring, paid classes, or any other commercial teaching;
  • remove, obscure or alter watermarks, copyright notices or file metadata;
  • create derivative works — rewritten, retyped, translated, reformatted or excerpted versions of our questions or explanations.

If you breach this section, your licence to the affected product ends immediately and we may decline to sell to you again. Ending the licence does not entitle you to a refund.

5. Watermarking, disclosed in full

Every PDF we deliver is watermarked for the individual buyer. The watermark carries your name, your email address, the order number and a buyer ID. It appears in the footer of every page of the document and in the PDF metadata.

These marks travel with the file. If a copy is redistributed, it remains traceable to the purchase it came from. We use this only to enforce the licence in section 4, and for no other purpose.

6. Delivery

Products are delivered as PDF files by email through Paddle checkout, within minutes of purchase. Practice Test 1 is delivered as three files: the test booklet, the answer key with full explanations, and the scoring guide.

You are responsible for giving a working email address at checkout. If nothing arrives, check your spam folder first, then email support@1600satlab.com and we will re-send.

7. Payment

Payment is processed by Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd), acting as our Merchant of Record. This means Paddle is the legal seller on your purchase: Paddle takes the payment, issues the receipt, and collects and remits any VAT or sales tax due in your country. Your card or bank statement will show Paddle rather than 1600 SAT Lab. Paddle handles all card data; 1600 SAT Lab never sees or stores your full card details. Prices are shown in US dollars, and your bank or card issuer may apply its own conversion or fees, which are outside our control.

1600 SAT Lab remains responsible for the material itself — its content, its delivery to your inbox, and support. Paddle's own terms additionally govern the payment transaction.

8. Refunds

All sales are final. Our products are digital files, and once a file is delivered it cannot be returned, so we do not issue refunds for any reason. Confirmed factual errors in a question or answer key are corrected and reissued free of charge, with no deadline on reporting them — this is a correction, not a refund. The full policy is on the refund policy page.

Before buying, you can judge the material for yourself with the free five-question sample pack, which uses the same production pipeline as the paid tests.

9. Disclaimer

Our material is sold for educational use. We do not guarantee any score, any score improvement, or any admissions outcome, and we make no claim about what result you will get on a real exam.

Any scaled score produced by our scoring guide is a pilot estimate from a disclosed internal curve, not an official College Board score. The guide states its own sources of imprecision: equal item weighting, no adaptive routing, and no empirical calibration against a representative student sample.

Our practice test is non-adaptive. The real Digital SAT routes a student to a Module 2 difficulty based on Module 1 performance; ours does not. Read every estimate our scoring guide produces with that difference in mind.

We take care to produce accurate material and we correct confirmed errors, but the material is provided as it is, without warranties beyond those that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to a product or to this site is limited to the amount you actually paid for the product concerned.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, including lost study time, examination results or admissions outcomes.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, and nothing in them removes consumer protections that the mandatory law of your country of residence gives you.

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any dispute arising out of or relating to them, or to a product bought from us, is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Seoul, Republic of Korea.

12. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms. When we do, the “last updated” date at the top of this page changes. Revisions apply to purchases made after the revision date; the version in force when you bought a product continues to govern that purchase.
