1. Introduction
1600 SAT Lab ("we," "us," or "our") is a sole proprietorship based in Seoul, South Korea. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. We are committed to handling your data responsibly and in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), where applicable.
2. Data we collect
We collect only the data we need to deliver our products and communicate with you:
- Name — to personalize your delivery and communications.
- Email address — to deliver your purchased PDF, send your free sample pack, and (with your consent) send marketing and product-update emails.
- Purchase information — order details and transaction records, processed through our payment provider.
- Usage data — basic, anonymized analytics about how visitors use our website (see Section 5).
3. How we use your data
- To deliver the products you purchase, by email, as a PDF.
- To watermark each PDF you purchase with your name, email, and a unique buyer ID, embedded in the file (visibly in the footer and invisibly in the metadata) for licensing and anti-piracy purposes.
- To send you the free sample pack you request.
- To provide customer support and respond to your inquiries.
- To send marketing emails about new tests and offers, where you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
- To improve our website and products through aggregated analytics.
4. Email marketing (MailerLite)
We use MailerLite to manage our email list and send marketing and sample-pack emails. When you submit your name and email through a form on our site, that information is stored and processed by MailerLite on our behalf. You may unsubscribe at any time, after which we will stop sending you marketing emails.
5. Analytics (Google Analytics)
We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our website. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect anonymized, aggregated usage data such as pages visited and approximate location. This data is not used to personally identify you. You can opt out using Google's browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.
Note: A Google Analytics tracking tag is not yet installed on this site. This section describes our intended use.
6. Payment processing (Paddle)
We use Paddle as our payment processor and Merchant of Record. When you make a purchase, your payment card details are collected and processed directly by Paddle under their own privacy and security standards. We never see or store your full card number. Paddle may share limited transaction information with us (such as your name, email, and order details) so we can fulfill your order and provide support.
7. How we share data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. We share data only with the service providers that help us operate — currently MailerLite (email), Paddle (payments), and Google Analytics (analytics) — and only to the extent needed to provide our service. We may also disclose data if required by law.
8. Data retention
We retain your data for as long as needed to provide our products, comply with legal and accounting obligations, and — for marketing — until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
9. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate data;
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten");
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Withdraw consent to marketing at any time; and
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
Under the CCPA, California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and to request its deletion, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@1600satlab.com.
10. Cookies
Our site may use cookies for basic functionality and analytics. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect some site features.
11. Children's privacy
Our products are intended for high-school students preparing for the SAT. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted on this page.
